I was born in South Africa, known as the Rainbow Nation. I lived in South Africa until I completed my Elementary schooling, but I spent my teenage years living in a tiny country, barely visible on the world map, called Qatar. I completed my middle and high school career in an international British Curriculum school which exposed by me to many different cultures from around the world. In high school I excelled at English, Math and the Sciences. After graduating from high school, my journey continued in the United Arab Emirates at Gulf Medical University. At Gulf Medical University I completed the basic science part of my medical degree. I enjoyed participating in study groups and have a passion for passing my knowledge on to others, as well as, learning new things from them in return. My colleagues in medical school were particularly fond of my mnemonics and frequently asked me to help them to memorize complex content. My pursuit to find the optimal medical training possible led me to the United States of America. I completed the clerkship part of my medical degree in Fort Worth, Texas. I graduated as a medical doctor in 2015. I initially began my working career volunteering at a hospice where I did administrative tasks. I have also worked as medical scribe and clinical research coordinator. Quickly after I started working, I was promoted to head scribe. Being head scribe, I had to train other scribes and teach them the ins and outs of how to assist physicians with their medical documentation. Having reflected back on my journey, I realized that I had a passion for teaching others and would like to pass this knowledge on to the leaders of tomorrow. I live with my husband and our dog Gizmo. We love spending time with friends and family. We also enjoy part-taking in fantasy football and spending some weekends out in the country.
